We’re now UC Energy Ltd, trading as UrbanChain Ltd
Now we have our own licence to supply energy, we’re moving all of our customers over from Rebel Energy to UC Energy Ltd.
We’re here to look after you, the change won’t make any difference to your electricity supply and you don’t have to do anything.
Here are some answers to questions you may have.
What do I need to do?
For now, sit back and relax. There will be no change to your account.
When will my account move over?
It should take two to three weeks. We’ll let you know as soon as everything’s ready.
Does this affect my energy supply?
No – your energy supply won't change or stop. Once we’ve moved you over, UC Energy Ltd will officially be your supplier.
Will my tariff/product stay the same?
Yes – everything will stay the same. Your tariff name, prices and end date won’t change.
Will my Direct Debit amount change?
If you have a fixed Direct Debit, we regularly review it to make sure it’s still covering your bills. And, of course, we’d let you know before we made any changes to your Direct Debit.
What will happen to my account balance and recent payments?
Nothing – everything will stay the same and you won’t see any difference.
Will my smart meter still work?
Yes, your smart meter will continue to send us readings. But it might take a bit of time to connect to our systems, so in the meantime, you can give us manual readings to make sure your bills stay accurate.
What will happen to my data?
Your privacy is our priority. We’ll keep your personal information safe and secure.
Will my payments stay the same?
Yes – you don’t need to do anything. You'll see it on your bank statement as ‘UrbanChain’.
Will my prices increase?
If you’re on a fixed tariff, your prices won’t change. For variable tariffs, your prices might fluctuate in line with regular price cap reviews.
What happens if I want to switch suppliers now?
If you try to switch suppliers while mid-transfer, it might not go through because the energy system can only handle one change at a time.
What happens if I'm moving premises?
Let us know as soon as possible, and we’ll help transfer your account or close it smoothly.
What if I’m on the Priority Services Register?
Your place on the Priority Services Register will automatically carry over to UrbanChain Ltd. Just let us know if there are any changes.
